Juvenile Law

A Child’s developing mind is not able to comprehend their actions and understand the consequences in the same manner as an adult’s mature mind. While the crimes charged in Juvenile law are the same as those that are charged in adult court, that is where the similarities end. Juvenile law has nuances that make it necessary to hire an attorney that has experience in handling juvenile cases.

Though Juvenile court is supposed to be focused on rehabilitating the minor, no one wants to see their child sentenced to juvenile detention. Our goal is to preserve your child’s record so he/she can walk away with minimal long term effects.

One of the most recent cases in the news had to do with Paul Gingerich who was sentenced as an adult at the young age of only 12 years old on a murder charge.  The details can be found at http://fox59.com/news/stories/legal-battle-over-paul-gingerich/#axzz2SZFaN48X

It was recently reversed though in the Indiana Court of Appeals so Paul Gingerich could get a new trial and hopefully will be treated as a minor.
